Ohio CDL Skills Test Locations
Checked Oct 23, 2026 Official source: Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV)
Ohio gives CDL skills tests at the 25 CDL Skills Testing locations in the Ohio Department of Public Safety local-office directory. Most are run by schools, colleges and testing companies that set their own fees.
Who gives the test in Ohio
Skills tests (pre-trip inspection, basic maneuverability, road test) are given at CDL skills/testing locations. At a state-owned facility you first buy a CDL Test Receipt at a deputy registrar; at a third-party facility the site sets the fee. Third-party sites may rent vehicles.

How to schedule the skills test
- Pass your knowledge tests at a driver exam station, then book the skills test with a CDL skills/testing location. (bmv.ohio.gov)

Tips
- Every Ohio skills test site sets its own fee; call two or three nearby sites and compare.
- Several sites (Medway, Batavia Haskell Lane, Columbus Mound Street, Dayton Troy Street, Piketon, Perrysburg) test on Saturdays.
- Failed a part? Ohio makes you wait two days before retesting.
